Sunset River Cruise
Our sunset cruise is available to you every evening after high tea. Refreshments are served and it is a wonderful way of enjoying the sunset. Our experienced coxswain/guide will be sure to make this trip most enjoyable, relaxing and memorable.

Victoria Falls Tour
While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, The Victoria Falls are classified the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft ) and height of 108 metres (354 ft ), resulting in the world’s largest sheet of falling water. The Victoria Falls are roughly twice the height of North America’s Niagara Falls and well over twice its width.

Picnic Lunch
Embark on a serene adventure with a scenic boat ride to a secluded oasis along the majestic Zambezi River. At this carefully chosen special spot, immerse yourself in nature as you enjoy a tranquil picnic on the riverbank. The gentle rustle of leaves, the rhythmic flow of the Zambezi, and the ambient sounds of wildlife provide the perfect backdrop for a leisurely picnic lunch. Traditional
Mokoro Ride
Take a trip on our local dugout canoes around the island in the true spirit of the local people. The canoes are handmade and you have an experienced local guide as paddler. It is in fact believed that this style of softwood canoe is the very one used by the late Dr David Livingstone to travel past these same islands over 150 years ago. This is the best way to view the river and experience some unique bird watching.

Cultural Tour
of the Local Villages
Should you be interested in learning about the local culture, customs and tradition in our area we highly recommend a walk to the local villages. On the village walk you will learn more about the history of the villages as well as interact with the local people, you can either do the short village walk which you will only visit one village called Siankaba village or the long village walk which covers about 4 to 5 villages as you walk upstream and come back to the lodge in a traditional dugout canoes called a Mokoro.

Nature Trail
This is an activity keen birders will love to experience; it’s an early morning activity or can be done at dusk. The guide will take you out on the walk around the island and mainland in search of the vast birdlife.

Fishing
Dare try to catch the Zambezi`s most elusive fish, the world renowned Tiger! Tackle and bait are available from the guides; please speak to the duty manager/guide who will advise on the best time to go fishing.

Bird Watching
The islands do not have much game and so we are heavily dependent on bird life. This is an activity keen birders will love to experience; it’s an early morning activity or can be done at dusk. The guide will take you out on the walk around the island and mainland in search of the vast birdlife.

Bamboo Bicycle
Trail Ride
Like the guided village walk, this is a way for you to sample some local heritage whilst cycling on our Zambian made bamboo bikes. These are mountain bikes on which the frame is made from bamboo. Being extremely strong yet flexible this makes for a very comfortable ride. Helmets are provided and our guide will set a leisurely pace for your trip.

Kayaking/Inflatable Boats
Kayaking has a long and fascinating history that dates back over 4,000 years. Over time it evolved into a global recreational and competitive sport. Today, rivers like the Zambezi River provide some of the world’s most thrilling kayaking experiences. This is provided by our trained guides to navigate the Zambezi River and enjoy the feel of Africa on the river. Book this activity with any of the managers on duty.

Events
Islands of Siankaba is the perfect location for weddings, honeymoons and other special occasions, offering a wonderfully romantic and private retreat. The lodge also offers two unique wedding packages - with the option of getting married in the local community church or on one of the many islands surrounding the lodge with all the details being taken care of by our experienced team.
